Klara Källström

Klara Källström is a Swedish musician, cellist and composer based in Stockholm. Her love of Nordic folk music and Western classical music has inspired her to create her own musical glade. Her compositions allow us to experience a wide palette of sounds in which minimalist patterns meet melodic and rhythmic elements from Nordic folk music. I addition to her solo and trio projects she has worked as a freelance cellist with the groups Trio Törn, Emilia Amper Band and Sirocco.

Klara’s music takes shape as trance/groove, and rich hues of sound with powerful singing of her lyrics express that which bears and burns us through life. With a strong stage presence and a sincere message, she intends her music to express the everyday nuances which in turn embroider the weave of life’s major questions.

Klara Källström has studied folk music and Western classical music at Stockholm’s Royal College of Music and at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.
